MindEdge's Information Technology & Cybersecurity Council includes experienced senior practitioners with years of relevant information technology and cybersecurity experience. The Council ensures the accuracy, comprehensiveness, and relevance of MindEdge's Information Technology & Cybersecurity courses, certifications, and processes.
Joe Peters (Chair). Joe Peters is a former journalist and author with two decades experience in information technology development and management. Joe was drawn to information security in 2001, shortly after an Eastern European IP address managed to compromise a Linux system that he was managing for a Boston-area university. CISSP® certified since 2004, Joe serves as a Senior Editor for MindEdge while continuing to work as an independent consultant. He is a graduate of Boston College.
Marco Martinez. Marco Martinez has been involved in cybersecurity since 2014. Marco is currently an Editor at MindEdge, specializing in information technology and cybersecurity. He holds an undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in International Business and Marketing and a Masters degree in Cybersecurity Management from Baypath University.
Christina Mazzone. Christina Mazzone is a founder and current president of the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of (ISC)2. She serves as the Information Security Officer for Brigham & Women's Hospital, a member of the Partner's Health Care System. In addition to being a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional, Christina holds a Masters degree in Project Management, with a specialization in Information Security, from Northeastern University.
Steve Moscarelli. Steve Moscarelli has been working in IT security since 1995 when he was one of the first resellers of the first firewalls. A former president of the New England chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Steve has lectured in graduate programs at DePaul University and Northeastern University. He is currently an advisor to the SOURCE Conferences and has worked for Check Point Software, Qualys, Sourcefire (Cisco), PortAuthority (Forcepoint), Tufin, and Positive Technologies. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Peter Ridgley. Peter Ridgley is CEO and founder of Verterim Associates, a professional services consulting firm specializing in governance, risk, and compliance. A former CISO with over 17 years experience in information security and risk management, Peter teaches incident response and management at Boston College. He holds an undergraduate degree from Denison University and a Masters degree in Information Assurance from Norwich University.
